RBI cuts repo rate to 6.75% by 50 basis points:
RBI move could make your loans cheaper ; Repo rate cut 50 basis points to 6.75% from 7.25%, CRR (Cash Reserve Ratio) kept unchanged at 4%,Celiing on SLR securities to be cut to 21.5% from January 9, Inflation forecast cut to 5.8%,Limit for foreign hedging increased to $1 million, Jan. inflation target likely to be achieved, Shifts focus to bring inflation to 5% by March 2017. Growth Estimate cut to 7.4% from 7.6.
WHAT it means for the common man: EMIs on home and vehicle loans are likely to come down, the move will be positive for interest rate-sensitive sectors like durable goods and capital goods.

A bouquet of sops to encourage manufacturing of mobile phones and their accessories, ranging from land allocation on cost basis, reimbursement of stamp duty, and waiver of CST to an assurance of uninterrupted power supply, were notified by Government of Telangana. The government has decided to allot land for anchor unit and its ancillaries, a total of 10, on cost basis, A 20% capital subsidy; Interest subvention of 5.25% on term loan for a period of 5 years, subject to an overall ceiling of Rs.1 crore per unit per annum. And 100% reimbursement on stamp duty is to be offered.
