India Move up in ‘ease of doing business’ ranking:

231 reforms were implemented in 122 economies last year. It took four months in 2005 to start a business in India,but it takes only 29 days now. India improved its position from last year’s 134 to 130 in the World bank Development Business 2016 Ranking,which was released on Tuesday. Last year’s report ranked India at 140,but this year’s report features the recalculated 2015 rankings,in which India comes at 134,computed according to a new methodology. The WB doing business reports, started in 2002, review business regulations and their enforcement across 189 countries.


RTI this year:

The Central Information Commissioner has admitted fewer and fewer cases every month this year,under the Right to Information Act,data show and RTI Activists have asked for greater transparency in the process of turning down requests. Cases admitted to the CIC October 2014 – 3290 and October 2015 is just 218 till date (October 27th.). Whereas, CIC says that it is not rejecting requests but is returning them for technical deficiencies,including lack of proper identification.


KCR on FRBM borrowing limit:

Telangana CM K C Rao made a strong pitch for increase in the state’s borrowing limit under the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) act again during a meeting with the Union finance Minister Arun Jaitley in Delhi. The state government has been pursuing the matter with the centre for over a year now, particularly after the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission that the borrowing limits of the state having healthy financial position could be raised from a maximum of 3% of GSDP at present to 3.5%.

Union Minister for Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari urged to develop dry port and inland waterways in Telangana. MP Vinod says Centre will issue a gazette notification soon for construction of 1,300 km highways in Telangana. Centre urged to increse the density of highways in the state to at least 4,000 km.


Komaram Bheem 75th Martyrdom Anniversary:    


A sign og growing discontent among Adivasis in Adilabad over the  current developments in the agency areas was evident at programme in conncetion with the 75th martyrdom anniversary of Gond martyr’s Komaram Bheem at Jodeghat in Keremeri mandal of Adilabad district on tuesday.


Focus on Seed Production in Telangana:

Delegates admiring the various hybrid varieties at a kiosk duringf the 8th edition of National Seed Congress in Hyderabad. University to launch PG Course in seed technology. Private sector dominates seed industry in cotton,maize,millets,sunflower,vegetables,where volumes are low. Public sector fouus is on food crop seed- including pulses,oilseeds. Value of seed market in the country -Rs.16,000 cr. per annum. Seed industry growing by 15% in India against global rate of 3% . 300 seed companies involved in seed production in Telangana. Tel;angana meets 60% of country’s seed demands,exports to 14 countries. International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) laboratory to be established st Prof. Jayashankar Agricultural University.


HRIDAY – Warangal gets Rs.72.97 Crore:

Various infrastructure and heritage conservation measures have been lined up for Warangal city in Telangana and Amaravathi in AP under the Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojna (HRIDAY) of the central government. A total of Rs.72.97 crore has been allocated for warangal for infrastructure and amentities, of which Rs.40.54 crore is under HRIDAY.
