Health indicators of the SC/STs a matter of concern:
Despite getting many social and economic rights, the Schedule Castes and Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes continue to lag behind in many health indicators. The proportion of children suffering from three types of undernourishment (weight for age, height for age and weight for height) is relatively higher than among the SCs and STs. Though there is a general trend of anaemia rising among women, the increase in number of women suffering from aneamia is higher among SCs,STs and OBc. 65% of tribal women are aneamic which is 13% higher than national average.
Depleting ground water levels:
Non-availability of water from the existing sources and fast deleting ground water levels has resulted in imposing a major cut in water supply in various municipalities in Telangana. According to MAUD, Ministry of Administration and Urban Development, supply of drinking water on daily basis done only in 14 out of 67 municipalities in the state.
KCR Keen to have 4 new districts:
Officials instructed to come up with a contingent plan soon.
The proposal to carve out new districts in Telangana State received an impetus on Sunday with CM KCR indicating the he favours the formation of at least four more districts by January 2016. The exercise of reorganistaion of districts has not taken place ever since Ranga Reddy district was carved out in 1978 under the united Andhra Pradesh’s regime.
8th National Seed Congress form October 27th in Hyderabad.
The congress is organized by the department of Agriculture and cooperaton, Telangana. Union Agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh would be the chief guest.
NITI Aayog Meeting:
The TS Chief Minister KCR will be attending a key meeting of the Chief Minsiter’s Sub Group of NITI Aayog on Centrally sponsored Schemes. It is to be mentioned that the CM’s Sub-Group is headed by the Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan which includes Telangana,Rajasthan,Kerala,U.P. and Nagaland submitted its draft report to PM in July 1st week. The committee received feedback,views and suggestion regarding its reported decision to cut the the number of CSS from 72 to 30. Modi is likely to be invited for the Ayudha Chandi Yagam to be performed in Erravalli, Medak district.
The Telangana Government has decided to introduce English Medium in all the government schools. It’s a pragmatic decision given the fact that the enrollment in government schools is fast declining due to parental aspiration to impart English medium education to their children.
Climate Change has no solutions:
India’s announcement that it will cut emissions by 35% by 2030 at 2005 levels is certainly a welcome announcement. However, the key is to sensitise the international community and get it to help us with technology-transfer and low-cost finance to achieve this ambitious goal. Gold Schemes to be launched on Diwali:
With a view of providing new direction to the development ,the PM Narendra Modi said that the government will launch gold shemes including Gold Monetisation schemes during Diwali festival. Apart from Gold Monetisation Scheme, the government will also launch ‘Soverign gold Bonds’ and gold coins with Ashok Chakra.

The 22 yr old from Agartala scored a total od 14,900 points in the women’s vault qualification at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Glasglow.
