  India wants WTO to discuss farm subsidies of the rich India has stressed for the WTO member countries to take up for discussion on a priority basis at the Nairobi meet beginning on Dec 15 the issue of  huge trade distorting farm subsidies of the rich countries and its consequent adverse impact on millions of resource poor and subsistence farmers in developing countries. Ministers from the WTO’s 162 member countries are meeting at the Kenyan capital during December 15-18 for negotiations aimed at a deal to liberalise Global Trade. Centre to setup 14 new flood forecasting stations in two states The Union Minister of Water Resources and River Development has recently decide to establish 14 more flood forecasting stations in A.P and Telangana States by the end of March 2017 as part of its e-Surface Water Information System(eSWIS) for timely dissemination of flood forecast. Flood warning messages are disseminated using Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) of Google to make the warning more effective.
